MonocularsMonocular are simple telescopes which are only half of a pair of binoculars. With the use of lenses and prisms a monocular facilitates the user to view things which are located far away as if they are very near. The image seen through monoculars appear in their correct orientation through the use of two prisms, whereas in most telescopes the images are inverted.Golfers, hikers and bird watchers like to carry a monocular since it is only half the weight and size of a binocular and much easier to pack. Those who have little room to stow prefer a monocular over a binocular.Monoculars
