Alcohol consumption, certainly, is considered the most socially typical substance in the USA. Fifty percent of people in the USA who actually do abuse alcohol, as it is considered the least difficult 100% legal substance to have. Lots of people don't consider this a drug, but it is the easiest way to self-medicate.
